An original 1966 Australian day bill (linen backed) for the film Alfie, a British romantic comedy-drama film directed by Lewis Gilbert and starring Michael Cain, This was Mr. Caine's break through film, which indicated, even then, his potential as the versatile actor. Alfie frequently breaks the fourth wall by speaking directly to the camera narrating and justifying his actions. Its a difficult film to come to terms with as it is most definately not what it seems. Its at its most base level is a movie about an arrogant womanising Jack the lad character. After impregnating his girlfriend he takes off on vacation. He continues his life of womanizing, but he can't hide forever. A misfortune strikes and Alfie is forced to face the product of his ways.
