An original 1987 Japanese movie poster for the theatrical release of Full Metal Jacket, directed by Stanley Kubrick. Its a British-American war film starring Matthew Modine, R. Lee Ermey, Vincent D'Onofrio and Adam Baldwin. Even though this was a Vietnam war film, it was shot in the UK: Cambridgeshire, on the Norfolk Broads, and at the former Millennium Mills, Beckton Gas Works, Newham (east London) and the Isle of Dogs. Although Kubrick once held a pilot's license, some have claimed that he later developed a fear of flying and refused to take airplane trips, which made filming abroad difficult.
This iconic artwork is by British artist Philip Castle who also created Kubricks Clockwork Orange movie poster.
