Purple Rain (1984)
An original rare unfolded Spanish 1984 poster for the theatrical release of Purple Rain, an American rock musical drama film directed by Albert Magnoli. It was also the title of his 6th studio album. The film stars Prince in his acting debut playing The Kid, a character based in part on Prince himself. Even those who aren't Prince fans will find the energy of his performance captivating. Purple Rain grossed over $72 million worldwide, against its $7.2 million budget. The film won an Oscar for Best Original Song Score. Definitely worth a watch. Prince rules and so does this iconic image by Ed Thrasher that was also used for the album. This poster was printed in the US for Spanish speaking audience, which is why there is no NSS stamp or film code.
These unfolded theatrical release posters are hard to come by, espcially in such good condition.
