A 1964 ultra rare original movie poster for the theatrical re-release of The 1961 film The Hustler, an American pool-playing drama directed by Robert Rossen, starring Paul Newman as 'Fast Eddie', Jackie Gleason, Piper Laurie, George C. Scott, Myron McCormick, Murray Hamilton, Vincent Gardenia and Jake La Motta.

When the film was released in 1961, the studio marketed the film as a romance and downplayed the "pool hustling" plot for fear of turning off movie-goers. Once the movie became a hit, 20th Century Fox re-released the film with the the billiards imagery.This 1964 reissue poster is preferred to the original by many collectors because of its simple stylised billiards artwork and the portrait of 'Fast Eddie'.
