A 1963 original ultra rare Italian locandina movie poster for Harakiri, a Japanese black and white film directed by Masaki Kobayashi. Its an incredible cinematic film, beautifully choreographed fight scene and stunning cinematography.
Hanshiro, an elder samurai, visits Kageyu, a feudal lord, and asks for a place to commit suicide. However, things change when Kageyu inquires about Chijiiwa, a young samurai, who visited before.
The "glue-like sheen" and stripped edges on vintage Italian locandina posters are common features resulting from the historical method of wheat-pasting and their removal from movie theater display boards. This distinctive appearance is not a defect but a sign of their authentic past as working movie advertisement art.
