An original 1973 U.S one sheet for the release of The Black Moses of Soul. Rhythm and blues legend Isaac Hayes and band The Movement are captured in a music documentray during a 1973 performance in Altanta. When this film was released he was at the top of his game, having already won an Oscar for the Theme from Shaft , and his silky, love-making grooves with such albums as Hot Buttered Soul .
For most of the movie’s running time, the screen is occupied solely by Hayes, either in close-up accentuating his bald head and thick beard or in wider shots showcasing his unique costume of a vest made from gold chains. Despite being poorly shot and terribly lit Hayes is badass and he sweats out a masterful performance - literally.
